Scrathed Face & A Trip To The Beach

Let's first back track to Thursday. Thursday was supposed to be Jacob & Madelyn's last day of swimming lessons but thanks to mother nature it rained and it got cancelled. Since the weather was clear on Friday they had a make up class on Friday instead. They both got completion certificates which was so cute. Now to the start of Friday. On Friday Jacob's class went on a field trip to see the circus. I went but had to follow in my own car (the rules of the bus...no parent rides on the bus, they must always follow in their own car and the children have to ride to & back on the bus...they can't leave with their parents.) So we have a great time at the circus and after & I said bye to Jacob & went and ran some errands. I told my sister that I would pick up Madelyn from school too since I was going to take them both to swimming lessons. I picked up Madelyn in her class first and then we walked down to Jacob's. I guess I was focusing on Madelyn more and didn't notice Jacob had 3 scratches on his face (1 was very deep) until we got to the end of the hall so I asked what happened. He said a boy named Christopher scratched him on the bus on the way back to school. WHAT? I was furious the teacher didn't tell me. I went back into the class and asked the teacher what happened. To her defense she was not on the field trip so she probably didn't know what happened. She asked Jacob again what happened and he told her the same thing so she called over Christopher and asked his side of the story. He admitted he scratched Jacob but said he did it because Jacob wasn't nice to him and didn't want to be his friend. The teacher told him to apologize but he didn't...his response..."Well maybe if he would be my friend I wouldn't scratch him"...omg...I seriously wanted to go & punch that boy! At home Jacob is a typical boy but when he goes to school he knows to behave and always does. He usually doesn't play with Christopher because he is so rough and gets into trouble. Jacob respects every one and plays with every one but distances himself from Christopher because of his behavior...& honestly I think he is pretty smart to already distinguish the difference and judging what type of people he wishes to surround himself with. During this time a girl from his class comes out and gives Jacob a hug & says "I'm sorry Jacob that Christopher is so mean" it was the sweetest thing. So the teacher says she will find out what happened and talk to his parents. I was a little scared for Ruben to see Jacob's face...I knew he would be furious. We went home and put some medicine on it and my mom suggest I call the school and make sure they talk to his parents. I did and they understood. So we went to swim class and Jacob did great. I was in the pool with Madelyn and my mom & Ruben's parents watched Jacob. After class we all went out for dinner. When we got home Ruben was upset with Jacob's face. He is very protective of Jacob so I think it honestly hurt him more than anything.

On to Saturday...we woke up around 3:30 a.m. and I got ready as Ruben packed up the car...we were off to the beach! I had packed the night before so it was just a matter of getting our bags into the car as well as snacks, sand toys, and Ruben's fishing pole. We headed to my mom's around 4:15 a.m. and they followed us to the beach. We got there around 5:30 and set everything up and sat and watched the sun set...it was so amazing. Ruben went and fished for a while while my mom, dad, sister, Jacob, Madelyn & I played in the sand and water. Madelyn loved it. We all had a great time. When we were there a man was fishing fairly close to us and guess what he caught...a Hammerhead Shark. It was crazy. We went over to see it and Jacob was just amazed...I was scared...we were just in that water playing close to it...ahh! The man set it free and we didn't get back in the water after that. We left the beach around 11:00 a.m. and went and rode the fairy just for the fun of it. We were all pooped and ready for some lunch and a big nap!! I was so happy we went to the beach as a family and watched to sun rise...it was beautiful. On the way home we got some McDonald's and Jacob was so tired he kept falling asleep with a nugget in his mouth. We kept him up so he would nap at home. We got home and showered and slept for about 3 hours. It was a much needed nap. The rest of the night we just watched movies and took it easy.
This morning when I dropped Jacob off at school the teacher that was on the field trip was there. She told me what happened and that the school wrote a letter to Christopher's parents and from now on Christopher is not allowed to sit next to anyone on the bus...he has to sit with a teacher. I felt bad for him getting in trouble but it just upset me that he would put his hands on Jacob when Jacob never did anything to him.
