Update

These past few weeks sure have been a blast! Ruben has taken the summer off from school so it has been so much fun having him home every night. We have taken Jacob to different places to just have a few weekends of fun. We went to Chuck E. Cheese, bowling and took him to watch Despicable Me (very funny movie by the way). He goes on field trips during the week with school so he sure if having a fun summer. He is going to the Circus on Thursday so he is looking forward to that. He started swimming lessons yesterday at Houston Swim Club. He was so excited he wore his goggles all the way from our house to the Swim Club...it was so funny. He did great! At first he didn't want to put his head in the water but his teacher pushed his face under and after him struggling with her for a minute he finally listened to what she told him to do...I guess she got rid of his fear. He has swim lessons everyday for 2 weeks...sure is going to make the time fly by!!

On Friday I took Jacob to Petco and bought him a fish. Since I am still working on my case for Ruben to buy me an English Bulldog, a fish was the closest thing to us getting a pet right now. Jacob picked a red beta...his favorite color and named him Benny...yes Benny from The Sandlot...of course. He has remembered to feed it every morning and loves bringing his toys up to the fish bowl to show Benny. It's cute.
August 23 is fastly approaching and my son will be an official Kindergartner. We have already started school shopping! I found Chaps polo shirts at Kohl's for an amazing price of $9.00 each...I had to get them! So far he has 6 shirts ready for Kindergarten. We still have a lot more shopping to do but we will probably wait until the beginning of August to finish up...trust me I am in no hurry to send my son off to Kindergarten!! My dad gave Jacob some money to go school shopping and he handed it to Jacob & said here is $1.00 so you can buy some school supplies, Jacob gets it from my dad and says, "Papa...this is $100.00 not $1.00!!" that's my son! He knows his numbers. My dad tried to trick him but you can't get one past Jacob especially if it's money. We appreciated Papa & Nana's gift!!

Toy Story 3, The Sandlot & Father's Day Weekend

I would say Ruben had a great Father's Day weekend. He took off on Friday so he could take Jacob to Donuts for Dad at Jacob's school. It would be his last one at Primrose so Ruben had to go. They woke up early on Friday and got ready and headed out. They came back about 2 hours later. Ruben said he lost track of time and was playing in Jacob's classroom with Jacob & his friends. I can picture this happening too! We had pre-ordered our Toy Story 3 tickets for the 1st showing of the 1st day it came out. We had too...Jacob has been waiting for this movie since we started seeing previews for it over a year ago. He LOVES Toy Story...I am actually not sure if loves is even a strong enough word. We headed to the theater & Jacob could barley keep from jumping out of his skin he was so excited!! We all loved it!! It is my favorite out of the others. I even cried at the end (I have never cried during a movie)...it was awesome!! Great movie for any age & the ending was awesome...they did a great job!!! Jacob said he couldn't wait for Toy Story 4...I told him I think 3 was the last one! We headed home to rest for a bit and then we were off to the Astros game. My cousin and his family were in town so we picked them up and had a blast at the game!! Of course the Astros lost but it was a great game and the fireworks after the game were amazing! Saturday we did a little shopping and then we went to a family friend's Quinceanera. Jacob and Madelyn had a blast dancing the night away!! On Sunday Jacob & I woke up and made Ruben breakfast...pancakes, bacon, eggs, and biscuits. It was yummy if I say so myself! We hung out and then got ready to have lunch with Ruben's family. We then stopped and got snow cones and then headed to my parents to have dinner with my family. It was a fun day! Happy Father's Day again to Ruben, my dad, Ruben's dad, & my brother in law Gilbert. They are all amazing men!!

Now to The Sandlot. Jacob is obessed with this movie. He knows just about every word and wants us to call him Benny the Jet. He is too funny! I love this movie and I don't mind watching it but he literally watches it everyday!! He called me an L 7 wennie...it was too funny I couldn't even get mad & he goes around saying, "Your killin me smalls!" BOYS!!

Jacob Ryan's 5th Birthday & Party

It's official...I have a 5 year old son!! Ahh! On the morning of his birthday we woke him up at 5:34 a.m. (the time he was born) and sang Happy Birthday to him. He didn't like it much...he is so not a morning person! He shot up and said OMG do I look different? We played with him and said yes...he was so old he had wrinkles! He didn't believe us and took off to the bathroom to look in the mirror. He comes out and says, "I don't have wrinkles...maybe you get them when you turn 6 or 7." It was so cute. We let him go back to bed and Ruben was off to work. When Jacob woke up I made him breakfast and then we got ready to head to Kemah for the day. We had a blast! We rode rides, ate at Cadillac Bar, ate ice cream, and visited the candy & toy store. He was pooped by the time we left. We headed home to pick up his birthday cake and did a little decorating. Our families came over and we had pizza (of course...what else would he have picked). We had cake & he opened his presents from us. All in all it was a great day!! Still can't believe he is 5 years old!!

His pirate birthday party was on Saturday. We had it at Jump N Jungle...best place ever! It was the easiest party I ever had! It was nice to have to people do everything for you & Ruben & I just got to enjoy the party with Jacob. We had about 16 kids there & Jacob was so happy to have his family and friends around him. He had a great time running from moonwalk to moonwalk!

Pre-K Graduation? Check. Last T-Ball Game? Check. Turn 5 Years Old? Tomorrow!

Well his Pre-K graduation was on Saturday & it was amazing. I was proud of myself...I only teared up but didn't cry. All of the kids did awesome singing their songs...it was a joy to watch. Jacob didn't want to come out when they called his name to get his diploma so 2 teachers had to go and get him. It was pretty funny. He was embarrassed. He did well though & we couldn't have been prouder. Afterwards we picked up a bunch of Central Texas B-B-Q and had some fun out in the sun. We put out the little pool and slip n slides for the kids to play and have some fun! Thank you to Primrose for putting on the graduation...it was great!
Yesterday was Jacob's last T-Ball game. Unfortunately they lost by 2 but they played a great game. It has been amazing to watch them play...from playing in the dirt the first game to making great plays. So proud of all of them...Yey White Sox!!

Tomorrow is the day I have wished wouldn't come for a while longer....Jacob Ryan's 5th Birthday. I can't believe it has been 5 years since God blessed us with his presence. It hasn't always been easy but we have made it this long & I just thank God for blessing me with him. I have had 5 years of laughter, smiles & amazing memories & for that I will be forever grateful. He has grown to be an amazing little boy and I can't wait to see him grow up even more. I am amazed by him everyday. I don't know where I would be without Jacob. He is the light in my life & I pray I mean half to him as he means to me. He is my everything! I pray God blesses us with many more years!

I love you Jacob Ryan!
Happy 5th Birthday Blue!
I love you to the moon & back!!

Thank you God for choosing me to be his Mom,
for that I owe you my everything!

Graduation Drama

May. Oh May. Why do you seem to be whizzing by? I can't believe half of May is already gone! This past week was Ruben & my last week of school. Whew! Finally some family time. Jacob & I have a schedule so it's going to take some getting used to having Ruben home everyday. We missed him so we are happy his semester is over. This weekend Jacob's game was cancelled due to the rain & we only have 3 games left of the season. We have had a blast watching Jacob play so we are going to be pretty sad when Saturdays roll around and we don't have a game to go to...c'mon Fall Ball! haha! We had a rollerskating party to go to on Saturday & Ruben & Jacob probably had the best time! It was so funny to watch them skate. Jacob actually did really well for his first time to ever skate. I was proud of him!

Jacob's Pre-K graduation is on Saturday & I am trying to prepare myself. He practices the songs everyday & I just can't keep it together!! We have a real problem though. Jacob's original graduation was scheduled all year for May 29 but for some reason they changed it to May 22. Well May 22 we were supposed to be off to Austin for Ruben's sister graduation from UT. I am sorry I just can't miss Jacob's graduation. I refuse too. Ruben doesn't know if he should go to Austin for his sister's graduation or stay for Jacob's. I told him to do what he wanted but as for me & Jacob we were staying here. I hate the situation but there is no way Jacob would sit through a 3 or 4 hour college graduation. He would be a distraction to everyone and that is not fair to the people who are there to see their kid graduate. I hate the situation and I feel awful that we are not going to be able to go to Ruben's sister graduation...I just hope his family see's my side of the matter & understands.

The countdown continues...9 days until Jacob Ryan will be 5 years old!!!!

The Countdown Is On...

3 weeks until Jacob Ryan is 5 years old! I'm sure some of the people at Hallmark today got a kick out of the crazy lady (that being me) crying in the graduation & birthday section. I don't know what to do with myself...I can't even keep from crying in public...I am a mess!! I am beyond excited that Jacob is growing up but it is also hard for me. He is my one & only and I will never have this time back. Please pray for me...this is going to be an excited but hard couple of weeks for me!

AHHHHHHHHHH!

& by ahhhhhh...I mean it in the best possible way! We have been looking for a mattress for some time now. On Saturday we finally got one. We got a Tempur-Pedic Cloud Supreme! OMG...I don't want to get out of bed!! Both Ruben & my backs feel amazing. Love it! Cheers to many wonderful nights sleep...finally!!!

I had a blast at the Chelsea Handler Show! She was drunk & hilarious! Awesome time! Saturday Jacob had a TBall game...they lost...but they did an amazing job! We relaxed for a bit and then my sister had a jewelry party at my house...so much fun! On Sunday we ran some errands and just had some great family time. Now its back to Ruben being gone for 3 nights out of the week...at least school is almost over for the semester!

Today is 1 month until Jacob will be 5 years old. We got some of his party supplies this weekend and it kinda made it seem more real. He is excited about his birthday...I am still not a big fan!

Busy Weekend Ahead

May weekends are sure going to be busy with TBall games, birthday parties & graduations. Seems this weekend we are getting an early start but I couldn't be more excited. Friday Jacob has TBall practice & after that Ruben & I have a date...yey! We hardly ever go out anywhere by our self. We will head out to dinner and then go to the Chelsea Handler show...yey for winning tickets!! Saturday it is up early for Jacob's TBall game and then right after it is off to the "Spring Fling" at Jacob's school. We had a blast last year so we are excited to go again this year! My sister will also be having a jewelry party on Saturday night...at my house...so looks like no nap for us all day! We thankfully have nothing planned for Sunday so I am hoping it will be a nice day and we can just relax with Jacob. I pray everyone has a safe & fun weekend!

I'm An Emotional Wreck!

I know boys with be boys & I have many years to come of bumps, bruises, and maybe even broken bones but I definitely wasn't ready for it this weekend. Jacob had a game on Saturday and midway thru the game he feel backward on the bench and hit his head on the concrete. I was literally 2 steps away from him and I go over & pick him up and put him back on the bench to look at his head and he already has a huge bump on the back of his head. You could see blood on the surface but the skin was not broken. I rushed him out of the dugout to Ruben in the stands and everyone is just scrambling to get ice to the back of his head. It was painful to watch my little man hurt!! Ruben decides we need to take him to the ER to just get piece of mind that he is ok. We rush over there and they check his vitals, check his skull and bones and asked him a ton of questions to test his memory. Everything turned out great. They said he just broke a blood vessel and it was bruised. The bump has gone done a whole lot since Saturday...thank you God nothing was wrong! I cried the whole time we were at the ER...I knew deep down he was ok but it was just a lot to handle. My eyes literally tear up anytime I mention or think about his 5th birthday coming up or him starting Kindergarten so I told him to take it easy on me because right now I am just an emotional wreck...he thankfully promised!! I LOVE THAT LITTLE BOY!!

"My Name Is Jessica from Pearland & I CAN Beat Maria!"

Yey.....

In the mornings I usually listen to Mix 96.5. They have a game called "Can't beat Maria" well I play along in the car everyday and I know most of the answers. I always try to call in and play but I never get thru...well today I did!!!! I was so nervous!! Haha!! I call in and they said they had other people on hold in front of me but asked why they should pick me...Hello I call everyday...please give me a chance...WELL THEY DID!! I get 3 out of the 5 questions correct and so does Maria...A TIE!! Well if you tie then they let the listener be the winner....yey me!!! I won Chelsea Handler tickets for next Friday. I love her!!! I am so excited!! My night/day started out super bad but thank you God, good man above, you changed my whole day around!!!

THANK YOU MIX 96.5 & MARIA!!!

Almost 5 & BTW...I'm Not A Big Fan Of It!

So my little man is about to break a milestone! He will be turning 5 years old very, very soon! & BTW...I'm not a big fan of it! (hints the title) I cry when I think of it. Either I am a huge baby or this just seems to be happening way to fast. 5 years old...a whole hand, Kindergarten...this is all too much for me. I love to watch Jacob grow but he is losing his "baby" face and is starting to look like a little boy every day. He talks about girls all the time & it breaks my heart because I know this is just the beginning of girls. He told me that girls are "paparazzi" cause they chase him on the playground...WHAT!? What does a 4 year old know about "paparazzi"...no more Lady GaGa for him! Haha! He knows all of his numbers, letters, shapes, colors, patterns, addition, money, light reading...all kinds of things its amazing. I thank God that we are able to have him at a good school like Primrose. Yesterday I booked his birthday party...later than I normally am. Usually I would have everything planned out and decor ready to go by now...but this year is just so much different. I have been putting it off cause I don't want it to come. Not like it would stop his birthday from coming anyway. Just a mind game I guess. I know I need to get on the ball but it's just so hard. He's my baby...but now he definitely wont be a baby. As much as I don't want him to grow up and get older I can't wait until he turns into a young man. He is my shinning light & I love to watch him grow. I love you, Jacob Ryan!!

TBall has been going great as well! The boys are improving so much! They won their game this past Saturday & they were so happy!! We have a game again this Saturday...wish us luck...GO WHITE SOX!!

Family, Easter & Kindergarten

Oh how I wish my family was still in town & my BFF, Katrina! I miss all of them. I had such a great week/weekend with them...I miss them all so much! Easter was a blast! My family came in on Friday afternoon and we took my cousin out to lunch (her birthday was Thursday...yes April Fool's) after that we stopped by my house to give my family a "tour" and then it was off for some shopping. Saturday we spent all day at Kemah...loved it. The weather was great & the company was even better! Sunday was Easter and we had a blast hiding eggs, chasing each other to break confetti eggs on each other, and of course my mom's great B-B-Q! Here are a couple of pictures:
Well today was the day I have been dreading for some time now! KINDERGARTEN registration! Where has the time gone? How could 5 years (almost) passed right by in what feels like a split second? My baby isn't a baby anymore. I went to register him and was feeling strong (every time I would think about registering him my eyes would water) and then I got in the car to leave & I lost it. I cried all the way back to work. I am such a baby. I can only image what the first day of school will be like. I am going to sit outside the classroom all day & I don't care if they tell me to leave!!! I wont leave!
